April is National Volunteer Month! Thank you to our PAWsitively awesome volunteers, helping turn Second Chances into forever homes for so many dogs!
So, you’re thinking about becoming a foster?! That’s great!
Your primary role as a foster is to be a loving and patient caretaker while your foster dog acclimates to a new home environment. Another important function of the foster is to help us learn more about the dog’s personality, behaviors, and any likes and dislikes to allow us to find the most suitable adopter. Sometimes, we will ask fosters to review an adoption application or speak with a prospective adoptive family. Any additional information you can provide about the dog is always helpful.
Our rescue will provide dog food, a dog crate, collar, leash, harness and any other items a dog may need in foster care.
Foster homes do truly save lives because the dogs always need a transition place when they leave a shelter or any bad situation -- so thank you for your willingness to open your home to a dog in need!
